There I was minding my own business having breakfast and reading SQL Server Central‘s editorial when I saw a link to Alex Kuznetsov’s Defensive Database Programming book.
I read the book a year or so ago, and much of it will not come as any surprise to developer’s. However, it contains a lot of good reminders as well as a some nuggets that you may find insightful, and it comes with sample code to illustrate almost every point.
I particularly always like to read about the query engine as well as misconceptions and myths, since many blog posts may state something or offer best practices based on an old way the engine worked which is not longer true.
The book is available as a free pdf download.
